Two Simple Candle Making Recipes That You Can Do At Home


There are many different candle making recipes available but it seems that they are either normal procedures that you already know about or they are recipes that you have to pay for. This article is going to go over some of the more unique candle making recipes for free, recipes that you can do at home easily and at little cost. The first is going to be a recipe for crayon candles and the second is going to be the recipe for floating candles, are you ready to get started?

So what do you need to make crayon candles? Here is a list of the supplies that you are going to need for this project: crayons, boiling bags, boiling pot, wicks, wick tabs, and glass jars. Once you have everything we can get started. The first thing that you are going to want to do is remove all of the paper wrapping from the crayons as this will interfere with the process. Now place the crayons with like colors in to the boiling bags and fill the boiling pot about half way full with water. Place the boiling bags in the boiling pot and turn the heat on so that the water boils. The crayons should melt in to wax within ten minutes. When the wax is ready string the wick through the wick tab and place it in the bottom center of the jar. Pour the wax in to the jar and and let it sit for 24 hours to dry. When the wax is dry simply trim the wick and you are done with the first of the candle making recipes!

The second of the candle making recipes is the floating candle, you are going to need candle wax, wicks, a muffin pan, olive oil, a spoon, a double boiler, a thermometer, and a carving knife. Start by cutting the wax in to pieces and placing them in to the top pot of the double boiler. Fill the bottom pot of the double boiler about half way up with water. Bring the water to a boil and stir the wax often. Check the temperature as the wax should be ready at around 160 to 190 degrees. When the wax is ready prepare the muffin pan by wiping the inside of each cup with olive oil. Pour the wax in to each little cup. Now cut the wick in to smaller wicks and place them in to the candle wax, in about 24 hours you have perfect floating candles, simply trim the wick and you are done with e second of the candle making recipes!
