For example if you do not have a thermometer then the time to invest in one is now. Some other things that you should look in to are a candle pouring pot or at least a double boiler specifically for candle making, high quality candle wax and scented oils, and professional candle molds. When you have these items then you are ready for professional candle making at home, ready to get started?

Step # 1. The first thing is to clear a work area, prepare it with cardboard or newspapers, this will make for easy clean up.

Step # 2. Now take the wax, cut it up and place it in the top pot of the double boiler or in to the pouring pot. If using a double boiler then fill the bottom pot half way up with water and bring the water to a boil in order to melt the wax. Make sure that you stir the wax often and check the temperature often.

Step # 3. Now prepare the mold by wiping the inside with olive oil and stringing the wick through the wick tab, place the wick tab in the bottom center of the mold.

Step # 4. When the wax is melted now is the time to add any scented oils or color dye, stir in well then pour in to the candle mold, do this slowly and make sure everything is level. As the candle dries a small dip will form around the wick, pour some melted wax in to this to make the candle level. Wait for 24 hours then remove the candle from the mold and trim the wick to a quarter of an inch, you are done with your professional candle making at home!
